Somali delegation visiting Denmark

A delegation from Somalia, headed by Minister for Internal Security, Mr. Mohamed Abukar Islow visited Denmark on 6-7 September, 2018.

During his visit Minister Islow met with Minister of Immigration and Integration, Inger Støjberg, with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and visited the Danish National ID Centre.

The visit took place as part of the strengthened cooperation between Denmark and Somalia on development, stability and migration, including support for the construction of a new immigration headquarters in Mogadishu and the defectors rehabilitation programme.

In recognition of the improved stability in Somalia and the enhanced capacity of the Somali immigration authorities Denmark has decided to recognize Somali diplomatic passports as valid travel document.
