The Immigration Service' processing of personal data

As part of the exercising of the Danish Immigration Service’s authority we process personal data. We process the data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and with the Data Protection Act.

Enquiries about public access to documents, access to data, the rights of data subjects, requests for access, etc.

Your rights

According to the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Get access to the Danish Immigration Service’s processing of your personal data
  • Object to the Danish Immigration Service’s processing of your personal data
  • Have your personal data rectified, erased or to block data that is incorrect or misleading
  • Receive a file on the personal data that we process about you

If you want to exercise your rights as a data subject, you have to contact the data controller meaning the Danish Immigration Service:

To answer your inquiries we will need to be able to identify you. Either by you providing the case number, your address or your CPR number, if you have one. We urge that you contact us via a secure connection – for instance by using our contact form or e-Boks.

The Danish Immigration Service’s data protection officer (DPO)

The Danish Immigration Service has a data protection officer to advise the Danish Immigration Service on the requirements for processing personal data. If you have questions regarding the processing of personal data, you can contact our data protection officer. Our data protection officer can be contacted via:

  • e-Boks: Udlændingestyrelsen, pick the sub-category Databeskyttelsesrådgiver or write a direct message in e-Boks (requires NemID)
  • E-mail: Write an e-mail to us via the contact form and pick ‘Data protection (contact DPO)’

Complaint with the Danish Data Protection Authority

You have the right to submit a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Authority, if you are not satisfied with the way we process your personal data.
