Sending out newsletters

The Ministry of Immigration and Integration collects and processes personal data in order to be able to send out news and/or newsletters from our website,

Purpose and legal basis

The purpose is to be able to send out news and/or newsletters to registered subscribers.

The legal basis for processing the personal data is the subscriber's consent, see Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation, read with section 6 of the Data Protection Act.

Data being processed

We process the contact data of the person subscribing to news and/or newsletters in the form of the email address entered and submitted to the Ministry. In addition, we process information about which subscription(s) the recipient has signed up for as well as the date and time for this. This information is used to keep statistics about the use, for example in order to further develop and improve our news and newsletters.

Recipients of personal data

The Ministry of Immigration and Integration will not disclose your information to third parties, but we will transfer personal data to the Ministry's data processors. We use the Mailchimp service to send out news/newsletters, and for that purpose, your data are being processed in the United States. Mailchimp participates in the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework.

Storage of your data and your right to withdraw consent

The personal data will be processed until the time when the subscriber withdraws their consent, at which time the data will be erased. The consent is withdrawn by unsubscribing from the newsletter. Information on how to unsubscribe can be found in all newsletters. If the consent is withdrawn, this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of personal data until the time of the withdrawal.
